  “I didn’t say you were a slut.”

  I couldn’t stop giggling.

“Are you okay?” He knelt down to me.

I still couldn’t answer because I was laughing so hard.

“I’ll take that as a yes.” Dash picked me up fireman style and carried me to Dart’s car.

  “Where’s the bike?”

“Dart has it tonight.” He put my feet on the ground, opened the door, and helped me in. “So, don’t you dare puke in this car.”

I giggled the entire drive and didn’t stop until he pulled in the driveway and asked, “You and Daisy still fighting?”

“Oh, I guess you could say that. Can you tell if she’s over there?”

Dash looked over at me. “I’m not sure. Why don’t you come inside, and you can clean up?”

  “I look fine.”

“Really?” He flipped the visor down, and the bright light revealed the leaves in my hair and the dirt on my face.

“I’m going for an earthy look,” I lied.

This made Dash laugh as he got out of the car. He helped me out and held my hand, keeping me upright as we went through the house to his room.

I didn’t fully comprehend what was happening, because my eyes kept closing on their own. Dash sat me down on the bed; I couldn’t even force my eyes open at that moment. I heard him moving around, and it wasn’t until I felt a cool washcloth touch my face, did I become more alert.

Dash was in front of me, shirtless, on his knees. When did he take his shirt off?

“Wow, you’re as fucking hot as a male model,” I blurted out.

“Thanks,” he wasn’t fazed by the comment.

I studied his Greek godlike abs, hard pecs, and strong arms. My eyes caught the tattoo on the left side of his chest. It was three ravens perched on a branch.

  “Nevermore,” I said.

Dash looked into my eyes, not saying anything.

“I have a tattoo, too.” I pulled back from his hand, taking off my shirt.

“Garnet,” he was going to yell at me but stopped. His eyes widened when he saw the tattoo. “Wow,” he breathed out.

“I love it, but Daisy hates it.” Looking down, I smiled.

The large raven wings stretched under both of my breast. The head was right in the middle of my breastbone. The bird rested on a bed of roses and below that, in perfect script, was my favorite quote:

never to suffer would never to have been blessed

“That’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” Dash continued to stare.

“Thanks.” I put my shirt back on. “I need to go.” I could hear the slurring of my words, but I wasn’t sure if he understood what I meant.

“You’re fine. Stay,” he ordered, getting up from the floor.

Dash left the room again. I finally looked around his bedroom. He wasn’t neat, but it wasn’t filthy. I stood up, balancing myself on the nightstand and walked over to the bookcase. The smile crossed my face when I saw all the Poe books.

  Dash was a fan, too.

“You need to sit down before you fall down,” Dash softly commanded me.

“When did you start reading Poe?”

“Those are old school books, that I haven’t thrown away.”

“You’re lying.” I turned to face him, pushing my fingers against his hard chest.

Dash only stared at me, and I was I was getting a kink in my neck looking up at him. He helped me back down on the bed.

The room began to spin as another wave of alcohol washed over me, and I lay back and closed my eyes.

  Chapter 8 – Daisy

I shouldn’t be surprised by anything Garnet did anymore, but this morning? Two things surprised the hell out of me.

The first one was Dash bringing her home. Dart and I were at the dining room table eating breakfast when they walked in.

Garnet’s hair was a tangled mess, her makeup was smeared, and she looked like she’d slept in her clothes. I was going to open my mouth to yell at her, but Dart grabbed my hand, squeezing it tightly, and I shut my mouth. The second surprise was when she came back downstairs, and asked when I was heading to the game. I told her I was tailgating first, and she asked if she could come to.

Now we’re both standing in the student section, along with the rest of the stadium. The Herd was up by three, and they were getting close to another touchdown.

I clasped my hands together, seeing Dart’s number twenty-one still on the field, in position to run. I gazed at the other players, seeing Dash’s number thirty-one in the receiver’s position. He already had one touchdown this game.

The quarterback called the play and he faked handing it off to Dart, and scanned for an open receiver, but there was no one. I finally saw Dart race to the left side of the field, wide open. The quarterback threw it to Dart, and he sprinted the 10 yards to the end zone.

  Touchdown.

The crowd exploded, and I was the loudest. I watched Dash rushing over to him, both of them jumping in the air, colliding in a fraternal chest-bump.

I was going to spontaneously burst with pride for Dart, as the crowd and I began our We Are Marshall chant. Even Garnet was into it. The game finally wound down, and I headed to the players entrance to wait for Dart, like I did every home game.

“Did you enjoy the game?” I smiled brightly at my sister.

  “It was good.”

“Are you going to tell me why Dash brought you home this morning?” I had wanted to know all day, but I’d waited to ask.

  She shrugged.

I didn’t know what that meant, but I remained quiet. We didn’t utter another word until the boys came out.

I wrapped my arms around Dart’s neck, kissing him hard on the lips. “I’m so happy for you.”

  “Thanks,” Dart smiled.

“You did good, too, Dash.” I looked over at him standing next to Garnet.

  He nodded.

“Anyone hungry?” Dart looked between us.

“I’m off to a party.” Garnet announced. “Thanks anyway.”

“Don’t fall,” Dash teased her, making her giggle.

“Oh, so you two have inside jokes, along with your sexual escapades?” I smarted off, before I could stop it.

“Don’t be jealous, Daisy. I heard it causes wrinkles.” Garnet gave it right back to me, and Dash snorted in laughter.

“Well, be sure to use bleach after you have sex with Dash. He tends to stick it in everyone and anything.” Dart squeezed my arm, and I knew I had gone too far.

“Daisy, how dare you? You think that because he brought me home, we had sex? Well you know, we did, and he was the best fuck I’ve ever had.” Garnet’s brown eyes were full of anger.

“I get that compliment a lot.” Dash added.

“Maybe,” Garnet continued, ignoring him. “You should just keep your nose in whatever gossip the sorority has going on or what a celebrity is wearing on the red carpet, and stay the fuck out of my life.” She pushed past me and ran off down the sidewalk.

  Chapter 9 – Dart

From the moment we got in the car, Daisy didn’t stop talking about Garnet and Dash. She was still going on about it when we reached the bedroom.

“Daisy,” I grabbed her shoulders sitting her on the bed. “I love you, but you have to let it go.”

  “No—,”

I put my hand over her mouth. “We can’t help whatever is or isn’t going on with Dash and Garnet, okay? They’re both adults, and you need to let it go,” I told her again.

She crossed her arms, huffing her frustration.

“Daisy,” I said more firmly. “I mean it.” I removed my hand from her mouth.

  “She’s my sister.”

“And he’s my brother. Let them deal with whatever is going on between them.” I said loudly. “Now, I don’t want to argue about this. I would like to have a nice evening, just the two of us.”

  “I’m worried; I can’t help it.”

I sighed sitting next to her on the be
d. “I know, and that shows how much you love her, but you need to let her experience life, too.”

“Even if it’s Dash that she’s experiencing?”

I chuckled. “Yes. Now, please may we have a nice evening together?”

“Of course.” She lightly pressed her lips to mine. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize for being a caring sister. You’re always going to worry, but you need to let her go, a little bit.”

“I told Dad I’d take care of her,” she whispered.

  “And you are.”

  “I love you, Dart.”

I never grew tired of hearing her say those words. “I love you, Daisy.” I gave her a peck on the lips and went over to my closet to change out of my suit.

When I turned around Daisy had stripped out of her kelly green Marshall University T-shirt, and white shorts. She was leaning back on her elbows showing off her long legs, lace white thong, and matching bra.

I smirked as I hovered over her. “Daisy, I’m going to make love to you all night long.”

  “I hope so.”

I lightly touched her lips, tasting a hint of her cherry lip-gloss. Our tongues snaked with each other, eliciting a moan from us both. I softly traced her hipbone, up her flat stomach, until I was right below her bra line.

She pushed herself back to the top of the bed, giving me that sexual smirk that drives me insane, and beckoning me with her finger.

I crawled over to her, kissing her knee, up her thigh, continuing nipping her until I reached her plump breast. I tugged her bra down, grazing her nipple with my teeth. Daisy arched her back and ran her hands through my hair, her nails biting into my neck. I began making my way up her chest, to her neck. I swear she smells like sugary candy all the time.

“Dart, please,” she begged. “I need you.” She rocked her hips against, making me harder with each motion.

“I need you.” I whispered in her ear, slipping my hand under her thong, caressing her sweet nub. She moaned louder. She was wet on my fingers as I pushed into her. Daisy’s sexy noises made me work her faster. Her panting filled the room, and I knew she was close because she was tightening around me.

Then she wailed my name, and I felt the tension leave her.

I quickly pulled my fingers from her, and I reached for the condom in my nightstand drawer. I rolled it on as she tugged off her thong, and I positioned myself between her legs.

“Dart, please,” she begged again. Her face was flushed, and I knew that she was still reeling from her orgasm, but I wanted her to have another.

I glided into her as Daisy spread her legs wider. I leaned down closer to her, and thrust myself deeper. I heard my moans mix with her panting, and I moved faster. The sexual wave that rushed over my body almost made me forget my own name.

“Harder,” Daisy commanded, and I listened. Adjusting myself higher on my knees, I pumped into her at a full speed. “Yes,” she breathed out louder.

I felt my body constrict, and I knew I was close. At the same time, Daisy wrapped her legs around my waist, and I knew she was there, too. I continued at the same speed, until she began to shake with pleasure. I could feel her release, and I followed suit.

I laid my head in the crook of her neck trying to control my breathing and my heart rate.

“You’re going to kill me one day, Daisy.” I kissed her hard on the lips.

“No, Dart, I think that’s the other way around.”

  ~~

Daisy’s blonde hair was in my face when I opened my eyes Sunday morning. I smiled, knowing I wouldn’t want it any other way. She was truly the love of my life, and there would be no one else.

After I gently rolled out of the bed, so as not to disturb her, I showered, and headed downstairs to help start breakfast.

“Well, someone got laid last night,” Dash teased me as I walked into the kitchen.

“Your lady friend still in your bed?” I began cleaning up the potatoes for the hash browns.

“I guess you could say that,” he mumbled.

“Why didn’t you tell me about you and Garnet?” Usually, my brother told me all about the girls he was with. “Is it because she’s Daisy’s sister?”

“Actually,” he turned to me. “I didn’t sleep with her.”

I stopped what I was doing, too shocked by his words. “But, I heard her last night.”

“I know. I did, too, but I promise you, I didn’t. Not that I didn’t want to, though.”

“So, what did happen? I mean, I saw her the next day.”

“She was drunk off her ass and fell down. I brought her home, cleaned her up, and she passed out in my bed,” he explained.

  “Seriously?”

“Yep,” he went back to the stove.

“Then, why did she explode on Daisy?”

“No fucking clue, but you can ask her when she comes down.”

“What?” I practically shouted. “Garnet’s here, again?”

“That girl likes to drink. A lot. And, yes, she is.”

I rolled my eyes. “So, did you,” I stopped, not finishing,

“Nope, I swear. She only passed out. That was it.”

I shook my head. I couldn’t believe Dash had a girl in his bed two nights in a row, and nothing happened between them. I knew my brother wouldn’t if she was passed out, but I thought Garnet would be a willing participant.

I didn’t ask anything else, and we went about finishing the meal together. Sundays were special to Dash and me. Our dad always had the day off, and Mom would prepare a large meal of all our favorites. It didn’t matter what was going on, we would all sit down and spend time together on Sunday.

When we came to Marshall, our parents still came up on Sundays to have a meal with us. They did it until the day they died.

Dash kept it up, without me even asking. He’d been the closest to our Mom, and she’d taught him to cook. I knew not many people knew his secret talent, but he loved it. Almost, as much as he loved Edgar Allan Poe. Another secret he kept from others.

“I smell bacon.” Daisy’s groggy voice entered the kitchen.

“Yep, have a seat.” I told her, getting the food onto the table while Dash grabbed plates.

“Oh, I should text Garnet.” Daisy reached for her phone.

“Don’t bother, I’m already here.” Garnet’s tiny, very hung over body came into the kitchen.

“You look like shit, still.” Dash teased her, handing her a plate.

“You would too if you drink that whole bottle of vodka.” She dropped her head into her hands.

I looked at Daisy, and I wasn’t sure if she was mad or hurt at Garnet’s antics. I sat next to her, and squeezed her hand, letting her know it would be fine. Daisy nodded, and we all began to eat.

Luckily, breakfast went well, and there was no fighting, or arguments. The four of us cleaned up, and Daisy asked if we were going running.

“Yes. Dash, Garnet, would you like to join us?”

“Are there zombies chasing me?” Garnet asked.

  “No,” I chuckled.

“Then, no.” She shook her head.

“Come on, Garnet.” Daisy begged. “It’ll be fun.”

“I’m still hung over; I don’t think running is the cure.”

“Actually,” Dash jumped in. “It helps. I work out with Dart a lot when I’m in that condition and I do feel a little better afterwards.”

Garnet rolled her eyes. “Is this one of those interventions? Are you trying to tell me I am fat or something?”

“No,” all three of us said.

“We’re trying to get you out of the house,” Daisy added.

“Ugh, fine.” Garnet through her hands in the air. “I’ll go change.”

“I’m coming, too.” Daisy said, giving me a quick kiss, and then following her sister out of the house.

After the girls left, Dash turned on the Xbox and started up Call of Duty: Ghost game.

  “Aren’t you going with us?”

  “Nah
,” he shook his head. “I have company coming over.”

“All right.” I knew exactly what that meant. Dash was going to have a girl over, doing…well, whatever he does with them.

After I changed, I picked up the girls, and we headed to Ritter Park. The large trees lined the running track and shaded most of it. As we got out of the car, Daisy was going on about one of her sorority sisters. Garnet was standing in front of me, with her earbuds in, staring up at the sky.

“Ready?” I tapped her on the shoulder.

She nodded, and Daisy started off first. I easily caught up to her, and Garnet followed behind us. The only sounds I focused on was the gravel crunching under my feet. We continued our pace for several laps. Finally, Garnet said she was done.

“You two can keep going, but I’m done.” She slowly walked over to the bench and laid on it.

“Come on, this is our last lap.” Daisy went over, tugging on her arm.

“D-O-N-E, Daisy. I’m not going to move from the spot until I am attacked by wild animals.”

I chuckled. I didn’t think Garnet realized how dramatic she was, but she was just like Daisy in that manner.

“Let’s go home, girls.” I announced to them.

“Thank you.” Garnet huffed, sitting up. “I need a beer anyway.” She began cutting through the park, instead of staying on the trail, which was a shortcut to the car.

I saw Daisy’s eyes filled with worry. “She’s fine.” I whispered to her. “Let’s go jump into the shower together.”

“That sounds perfect.” She winked at me, letting the worry fall away.

  Chapter 10 – Dash

My plan was to lift weights after Tuesday’s practice, but I had to skip it after I saw the flyer hanging in Corbly Hall’s bulletin board that morning. Once practice was done, I raced home to change.

When I came back out of the house, I noticed Garnet sitting on her porch with her iPad. When I crossed the street, I took in her whole appearance. She had on black skinny jeans with shredded holes in them and a deep purple tank top. I didn’t know what type of bra she was wearing, but her cleavage looked good enough to bury my face in and never leave.

“What are you doing right now?”
